Changing my life

I am wavering between calling this note “Changing my life” and “What am I doing wrong?”.

Some of you know I started a company called Cuberry, which surprisingly went really well. If you’ve checked the site recently, you’ll see that I put it on hiatus. I did this because I couldn’t manage it anymore. Not because I don’t have the ability, but because I don’t have the discipline.

I always thought being a business owner was about being creative or highly intelligent, or having the ability and vision to run it. While I found that it ran very smoothly because of my “creative skills”, it hit alot of road bumps because of my discipline issues.

It’s simple things like sleep and time management that made me “fail”. (I never really failed. I still make a profit but development was sluggish. I felt like a failure.)

So. I am changing my life. I have lots of plans on changes that I will make but the first one is waking up every single day of my life at 7AM. I can’t do it all at once so I will do it step by step. Managing my sleep in a healthy, rational and organized way is a crucial step.

I calculate that I could make almost 2 extra hours a day (I currently sleep about 10). I actually “make” about 16 extra weeks a year. That’s just under 1/3rd of a year. I have so many ideas about what I will do with my new found time, but for now the first step is getting it.

If you are tagged in this note it’s because I thought you might want to read it. I will continue to write notes on the changes I am making and my progress and any problems I face, which will hopefully help other people who are trying to do the same things.
