Hot Hot Pink

thanks to amy for the photo
thanks to manic panic hot hot pink for the color. My hair was not prelightened, just damaged towards the ends and lightened previously many moons ago. I’m done with bleaching my hair, so I used manic panic because it comes out bright even if you don’t bleach. it’s a nice gradeint. feels good. My ends are healthier (and thicker).
good good good

I love the idea of showing off my jewelry in a cutesy minimalistic way. I came up with hanging it on twine with mini clothespins so it would look like it was part of the wall. Also, this helps necklaces from getting knotted with each other.
What you need: a hammer, twine, mini-clothespins, regular nails or screws with fancy hardware.
Put in the two nails or screws exactly where you want them. Tie the twine to one of them and measure out how much you’ll need to reach the second one. Give yourself some extra as you can always cut it later. Make sure the twine is taut. The jewelry will bring it down and make the twine sag a bit. Be creative with how you pin on the jewelry. I was able to get even rings and bangles properly secured. With heavy objects I used multiple pins.

HSN Technibond rips off Links of London
HSN’s “Tassel” Pendant is questionably similar to the Jewelry Design House Links of London’s Raindance Pendant.
They made a few minor changes, HSN’s replica has varied tassles and the pendant head is smaller, but the similarity is striking.

While I usually don’t mind replicas, what I do mind is the price tag: $149.00

Today was fun. Everyone seemed extra sweet. I went to Real, I got peanut butter, Diet Coke Knock off (made in Columbus, Georgia!), Mineral water (Made in Stanceni!!!!!!!!!!), and a Pomelo (Grown in China, lol) I’ve never had Pomelo before or seen it in a store and it basically looks like a huge orange. I will have to try it one of these days.
Now, for the kicker. I walked into Leonardo. I’ve been in before and tried stuff on, but this time, I swore to myself I’d get something. Why? Because I drooled over Leonardo stuff as a kid. And I still do. Except now I can kind of afford it. I decided I would go in, try a bunch of stuff, not look at the price, and get what I loved, as a V-Day present for myself. And that’s just what I did. I got the adorable heels above. And when I went to check out, the price surprised me. 19 lei. Yep. About 6 bucks. That’s cheap even by Leonardo’s standards. I think they were having a spring fashion sale on them, and I happened to like these. (I tried several similar styles beforehand .. but I wanted black. These were the only boot-less boot style heels in black that fit well.) So lucky. I was willing to spend upwards of 70 lei ($22). As soon as I bought them, I put them on.
It was never on my bucket list to walk in heels through an icy, snowy, slushie city, but I did it. Maybe I should write it in just to cross it off.
Not only was I in heels, not only was it icy, but I was carrying 5 liters of liquid. They are comfy so it really wasn’t bad. Yay!

Today was really cool. I like that they have a store dedicated to Japanese goods here. I got lost in a store in Romania. I never thought that was possible. They have everything here. Hundreds of different sausages, beers, drinks, soaps, hair colors, TVs, computers, cables, tools, etc. They have alot of variety, although they don’t have everything that’s available in America. I think this has to do more with demand. People prefer organic food here, natural products and otherwise they don’t sell. This is why it seems like alot of our American sodas aren’t available here. They have Coke and Pepsi and Mountain Dew but not much else.
The Fanta here is made with no artificial colors, no artificial flavorings, it’s pretty ridiculous. People here are picky. Not only that, they demand things to be made in Romania. Romanian’s long upstanding tradition of complaining about everything has actually got them somewhere. Props to them.
I love the Japan store. Everything there is imported from Japan and does not have any labels in English or Romanian. It’s kind of like a guessing game. I giggled so much, and I bought two things. I was gonna buy hairclip bunny ears, but then I realized I had kitty ears at home and that might be a bit excessive.
