Still haven’t read my books.
It’s stressful to juggle work, school, and procrastination.
The only thing that is tranquil for me at this point is writing.
I’m a rat in a maze.
I don’t know why I noticed this, but Megan Fox has a new tattoo
There was a post on dlisted today about Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green doing nothing on a beach and I noticed that she has a new tattoo. At least I think it’s new, I googled a bit and found no mention of it. It’s on her side (not the same tattoo about a little girl having her heart broken). It’s on the other side. It’s hard to read but with a little photoshop I’m almost sure it says:
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music.
I know a lot of people hate Megan’s tattoos, but I think they’re pretty cute. Sometimes too many word-based tattoos can look weird and … book-like. She has 3 long ones and one name. She’s probably got her fill of quotes and poems.
Solomon Kane (2010) Review
It had some cool parts but overall pretty cliche. A couple parts surprised me which I guess is a plus, and i think the 80%+ rating on RottenTomatoes is due to low expectations. It’s a low budget movie and it’s well done for it’s class but still not that great in my opinion, so it gets 2 stars out of 5. The end was anticlimactic and the characters were all reaaaaaaaaaaally one-sided. The best parts I think was the fighting choreography and scene set up.
Theatrical Release: Nov 6, 2010 Limited

I wish I could pull off red lips.
Heaven knows I’ve tried, but it often ends up looking goofy. Adriana Lima has a similar skin color to mine, and she can totally pull it off. But then again she’s really pretty and has full lips. The life of a pink-lipped girl is a disappointing one.
Till we have faces

A quote from ‘Till We have Faces by C.S. Lewis
PS. That’s not a gradient. I’ve been playing around with color blending in Illustrator and trying to get around the compound path limitation, so each element is a solid color, that looks like a gradient. :D
Dear Lady Gaga…
I don’t care that you sing about cigarette stained lies and smoke cancer-causing and voice-destroying cigarettes in every one of your videos, because, that’s art or whatever. But why promote drugs, drinking and smoking in interviews? Even though she says she doesn’t use that many drugs anymore, she says – “A little MDMA once in a while never killed anybody.” – which is not only not true, but also a stupid thing to say when most of your fan base isn’t even old enough to drink. MDMA (otherwise known as ecstasy) causes so many physical and mental problems it would be obnoxious to list them. It’s a rationalization that kids and young adults don’t need, Oh this didn’t kill anybody. Well, it did put people into hospitals and give them chronic depression, is that enough?
Lady Gaga goes on to say that she drinks whiskey and smokes cigarettes because it frees her mind. Later she says, “But I care about my voice. The thrill of my voice being healthy on stage is really special. I take care of myself.”
I really wouldn’t care so much if I didn’t know how young Lady GaGa fans are and how kids look up to people like this. They appropriate their lifestyles onto their own. Kids can be smart, and make choices for themselves, but alot of them fall into hero worship especially with someone so generational and eclectic as Gaga.
Then again she probably knows the effect she has on people. Yet she says this stuff anyway. Performance art perhaps?
Sad.

I have a thing for headless women
Arms aren’t necessary either. Who doesn’t love Venus? She’s part of my favorite myth, Cupid and Psyche, and the illustrations and sculptures of Venus over the years are fascinating to me. She’s the representation of the perfect woman – and I love her figure in classical sculpture. I made a negative painting of Venus de Milo a while back (I don’t have a good photo of it). This one isn’t based on Venus de Milo, but on a Hellenistic female sculpture. Even though it might not have necessarily been of Venus, art historians call these types of female torso’s “Venuses” because it’s very likely most of them are of Venus. Anyway. This is my take on it. I like it.
Find your Anchor
I’m starting to really like my tattoo vectors. They’re really fun to make. I love anchors because they are such pretty shapes but they also symbolize things like hope, steadfastness, stability. To sailors, it means safe return to port or more specifically the achievement of crossing the Atlantic. Mine symbolizes awesomeness and cuteness. :3
